Find any payment by amount and month
You remember the number and roughly when. Paidwhere finds the invoice behind it, even if it was in another currency, before tax, or came in a ZIP from last year, and opens the original file.
Ask the way you remember it
Type what you remember: “$60 last November”, “biggest expense last month”, “Uber in March”. Questions in Korean and Japanese work the same way. Paidwhere turns the question into a search over your own ledger, on your computer, and shows the matching invoices. It shows how it understood the question, so you can check that “$60” was read as an amount and “last November” as a month.
Why your card app can’t answer this
- Card apps show one card. Your invoices came from several cards, PayPal and bank transfers.
- They show a merchant code like “SQ *FARMSTAND”, not the invoice or what you bought.
- They don’t know the amount before tax or in the original currency.
How close matches work
When nothing matches exactly, Paidwhere checks the usual reasons memory and paperwork differ: the amount before tax, the same amount in another currency converted on the invoice date, an amount within a few percent, and the month either side. Close matches are labeled with the reason, so you can tell them apart from exact ones.
Every answer opens the original
Each result links to the file it came from, already renamed to date_vendor_amount and filed in its year/month folder. On a Mac the files also carry Finder tags and Spotlight keywords, so even the system search finds them without opening Paidwhere.
Questions
- Can I ask in Korean or Japanese?
- Yes. Questions in English, Korean and Japanese are understood, including the usual ways each language writes amounts and dates, such as won or yen amounts and “last November”.
- Do questions cost anything or go to a server?
- Questions are free on every plan, including Free, and are answered on your computer from your own ledger. Plans differ by how many pages Paidwhere reads each month.
- When can I use it?
- The Mac and Windows apps are coming soon. Join the early-access list on the home page and you get one email when the download is ready.
Invoices that file themselves
