Which files Paidwhere can read
Most invoices you have will just work.
Supported
- PDF, including PDFs that hold several invoices (they are split into separate files)
- Photos and scans: JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP, TIFF and GIF
- ZIP archives
- Saved emails (.eml) and mailbox exports (.mbox), such as Google Takeout
How it reads
PDF text is read directly. Scans and photos go through on-device text recognition: Apple Vision on Mac, Windows’ built-in OCR on Windows (for Korean or Japanese on Windows, that language needs to be installed in Windows settings). Pages the built-in reader can’t handle can be read by an AI reader; only that page’s text is sent.
Skipped on purpose
- Medical records and bills: left unread.
- Test-mode and sandbox receipts from payment providers: not real spending.
- Password-protected PDFs: remove the password first.
Pages and your plan
Every page Paidwhere reads counts once toward your plan. Duplicate files, downloads that aren’t invoices and test receipts don’t count. A ZIP or mail export itself doesn’t count; the invoices inside do.
Invoices that file themselves
Paidwhere for Mac and Windows reads invoices on your computer and files them into year/month folders with a ledger. Coming soon.
