How to download Amazon Japan (Amazon.co.jp) receipts and invoices
Open Your Orders on Amazon.co.jp, select “Invoice” on the order (「領収書等」 on the Japanese site) and choose the receipt, 「領収書/購入明細書」. Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser. For a qualified invoice with a T registration number, pick “Tax Invoices” (「明細書/適格請求書」) in the same menu.

Short answer
- On a computer: Your Orders, then “Invoice” on the order, then the receipt (「領収書/購入明細書」). Print it or save it as a PDF.
- Need a Japanese qualified invoice? Choose “Tax Invoices” (「明細書/適格請求書」). It covers items sold by Amazon.co.jp and by sellers that gave Amazon their registration number.
- The Amazon Shopping app can’t print these documents. On a phone, open amazon.co.jp in Safari or Chrome.
- Documents appear once the item ships. If you paid at a convenience store, ATM, by net banking or with e-money, Amazon issues no receipt; use the slip from where you paid.
Before you start
- The Amazon.co.jp account you ordered with. Amazon says Japan needs its own account, separate from Amazon.com.
- A computer, or Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) on a phone
- A printer only if you want paper; saving a PDF needs none
Save a receipt on a computer
- 1
Switch the site to English (optional)
Click the flag at the top right of the page, or open the language settings page, choose English and save. The site also offers Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
amazon.co.jp/customer-preferences/editIf the site still shows Japanese, check that you are signed in. Amazon says some features and messages may not be available in English, so this guide gives the Japanese label next to each English one.
- 2
Open Your Orders
Sign in and open Your Orders (「注文履歴」). If you have many orders, type the item name into the search box on that page to find the right one.
amazon.co.jp/gp/css/order-history - 3
Select “Invoice” on the order
Find the order and select “Invoice” (「領収書等」). A menu lists the documents available for that order.
The link only appears after the item has shipped. Before that, you can’t view or print any document for the order.
- 4
Choose the receipt
Select the receipt, 「領収書/購入明細書」, which Amazon’s English help also calls “Invoice” or “Invoice/Purchase Statement”. A printable page opens. For items sold by a Marketplace seller, the seller’s name is printed as the issuer.
- 5
Print it or save it as a PDF
Use your browser’s print command. To keep a file instead of paper, choose the save-as-PDF option in the print dialog instead of a printer.
You can reopen and reprint the same receipt as often as you like. Amazon doesn’t print and mail receipts. On Amazon Business, each reprint gets an updated issue date marked as reissued.
Get a qualified invoice (適格請求書)
This is the document Japan’s consumption tax rules look for when a business claims a credit for tax paid on purchases.
- 1
Choose “Tax Invoices”
In Your Orders, select “Invoice” on the order, then “Tax Invoices” (「明細書/適格請求書」). Print it or save it as a PDF the same way.
You get a qualified invoice for items sold by Amazon.co.jp, and for items from sellers that are registered qualified invoice issuers and have given Amazon their registration number. For other sellers you get a payment statement instead.
- 2
Check the issuer and T number
On a personal account, the registration number printed is the seller’s: Amazon Japan G.K. (T3040001028447) for items sold by Amazon.co.jp, or the Marketplace seller’s own number. Kindle books and software downloads carry other Amazon companies’ numbers, listed below.
invoice-kohyo.nta.go.jpTo confirm a number, enter the 13 digits without the T on the National Tax Agency’s registry site. The site is in Japanese only.
Get a receipt on a phone
The Amazon Shopping app can’t print receipts or qualified invoices. Use the mobile website in your browser.
- 1
iPhone: use Safari
Open amazon.co.jp in Safari, go to Your Orders and open the document. Tap the share icon, then the print icon, choose a printer and print.
- 2
Android: use Chrome
Open amazon.co.jp in Chrome, go to Your Orders and open the document. Tap the more icon at the top right, choose Share, then Print, and pick a printer at the top of the screen.
Some orders can’t be printed from the mobile site. For those, use Your Orders on a computer.
Receipt or qualified invoice: which one is which
Amazon’s English pages call almost every document an invoice, which hides a real difference. 「領収書」 (ryōshūsho) is a receipt: proof that you paid. 「適格請求書」 (tekikaku seikyūsho) is a qualified invoice under Japan’s invoice system, which started on October 1, 2023. The National Tax Agency says a business claiming a credit for consumption tax on purchases must, in principle, keep a ledger plus qualified invoices from registered issuers.
A qualified invoice shows the issuer’s name and registration number (T followed by 13 digits), the date, what was sold, totals and consumption tax by tax rate, and the buyer’s name. Amazon says the printable payment statement in Your Orders is an official qualified invoice (or itemized invoice) that you can use for expense reports. If a seller hasn’t registered its number with Amazon, you get a payment statement, an itemized invoice (区分記載請求書), instead.
Which document your employer, your accountant or a tax office outside Japan accepts depends on your situation. Ask them, or a Japanese tax accountant (zeirishi) for Japanese filings.
Japanese and English labels
Amazon calls the English and Chinese versions of Amazon.co.jp convenience translations. Where the wording differs, the Japanese version prevails. If a label on your screen doesn’t match, look for the Japanese one.
| Japanese site | English site (Amazon’s help pages) | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 注文履歴 | Your Orders | Your order list |
| 領収書等 | Invoice | The documents menu on each order |
| 領収書/購入明細書 | Invoice (Invoice/Purchase Statement) | Receipt for your payment |
| 明細書/適格請求書 | Tax Invoices | Payment statement or qualified invoice |
| 返品 | Your Returns | Return and refund status |
Items from Marketplace sellers
For items sold by a Marketplace seller, the receipt names the seller, not Amazon, as the issuer.
Except on Amazon Business accounts, you have to ask the seller directly whether it has a qualified invoice registration number. Amazon recommends checking before you buy. Include the order number when you contact the seller.
Kindle books and other digital orders
Amazon says qualified invoices for Kindle items sold by Amazon Services International LLC (registration number T2700150006138) can be downloaded from Your Orders. Search Your Orders for the book title to find the order quickly.
For Kindle books sold by anyone else, each seller issues its own qualified invoice. Request it through the contact details in the seller information section of the product page.
Game and PC software downloads are invoiced under the registration number of Amazon.com Sales, Inc., T9700150008012.
Prime membership fees
- Receipt: open Manage Your Prime Membership (「Amazonプライム会員情報」), select “Update your payment method”, then “View all payment receipts”, and choose “View Receipt” next to the charge.
- Qualified invoice: search Your Orders for “Prime” (「プライム」 on the Japanese site), open the order, then select “Invoice” and “Tax Invoices”.
What you can get depends on how you paid
| Payment method | Receipt | Payment statement or qualified invoice |
|---|---|---|
| Credit card, mobile carrier billing, Paidy, PayPay, Merpay, au PAY, Amazon.co.jp Gift Card, Amazon Points, partner points | In Your Orders | In Your Orders |
| Convenience store, ATM, net banking, e-money | Not issued by Amazon; use the slip from where you paid | In Your Orders |
| Pay by Invoice (Amazon Business) | Your bank transfer record stands in for a receipt | The Pay by Invoice consolidated invoice counts as a qualified invoice |
Company name, billing address and seals
The billing address on a payment statement is the address linked to your payment method. You can change it under Your Account, Payment options, but once the order enters the dispatch process the statement can’t be changed. If you need your company’s details on it, set them before you order.
On Amazon Business, Amazon corrects the business name and billing address on an issued qualified invoice by email when you ask; it doesn’t reissue the PDF. Update your Business Settings so later orders come out right.
Neither Amazon.co.jp nor Marketplace sellers stamp receipts with a company seal (hanko).
Downloading many invoices at once (Amazon Business)
Amazon says bulk invoice download is an Amazon Business feature that personal accounts don’t have. On a personal account, you save each order’s documents one at a time.
On Amazon Business, documents are available 24 hours after an order ships. In Business Analytics, the Order Reports page has a “Download order documents” button that fetches up to 2,000 invoices at a time. Business Analytics reports, such as orders, refunds and shipments, download as CSV files.
What you can see depends on your role: requisitioners see their own orders, group administrators and finance users see their group’s orders, and account administrators see every order on the account.
Buying from outside Japan: currency and import fees
With a Visa, Mastercard or American Express card in a supported currency (USD, AUD, HKD, EUR and GBP among them), eligible orders can be paid in your card’s currency through Amazon Currency Converter. The total shown in your currency on the final checkout page is the amount on your card statement. Amazon’s fees are built into the exchange rate, and your bank may add its own. Returns are refunded at the same rate.
Orders that include digital products or subscriptions, and payments that use a gift card or points, are charged in yen.
With AmazonGlobal shipping, an Import Fees Deposit is charged at checkout. Amazon says that if the actual import fees come in lower, it refunds the difference to your payment method and emails you. Its international shipping page adds that from November 5, 2026, no refund is issued when the import charges exceed what was actually paid to customs.
Returns and refunds
- Check a refund under Your Returns, in the Last 3 Months section. For items shipped by Amazon.co.jp, the order’s Order Details page shows it too, and Amazon emails you when the refund is complete.
- Card payments can be refunded to the card or as an Amazon.co.jp Gift Card. Convenience store, ATM, net banking and e-money payments come back as a gift card, or by bank transfer if you register your bank details when you start the return in Your Orders.
- Returns of Marketplace items follow a separate process in Amazon’s help (Marketplace Returns and Refunds).
- Since 2019 Amazon has issued refund statements (返金明細書) alongside payment statements. How to record a refund on an expense you already claimed is a question for your accountant.
Keeping the files for Japanese tax
How you store documents downloaded from Your Orders can fall under Japan’s rules for keeping records electronically (電子帳簿保存法). The National Tax Agency asks anyone who must keep records under the Income Tax Act or the Corporation Tax Act to check the rules on electronic transactions in particular.
Amazon’s guidance for Amazon Business says documents issued by Amazon Japan G.K. can be downloaded for 10 years. For the self-medication tax deduction, Amazon asks you to contact customer service (items sold by Amazon.co.jp) or the seller for a receipt. Which documents you need and how to keep them depends on your situation, so ask a zeirishi.

Keep your Amazon Japan receipts in order
Saved a stack of receipts and invoices as PDFs from your browser? The free Invoice to CSV converter turns text PDFs into a spreadsheet in your browser, and the file never leaves your computer.
Paidwhere, a Mac and Windows app coming soon, will pick up each PDF you save to a folder you choose, rename it by date, vendor and amount, file it into a month folder, and convert yen amounts to your home currency on the invoice date.
Questions
- Why does Amazon.co.jp call my receipt an “Invoice”?
- Amazon’s English pages translate 「領収書」, the receipt, as “Invoice”, and the documents link on each order is labeled “Invoice” too. What Japan’s tax system calls an invoice is the qualified invoice, 「適格請求書」, which the English site calls “Tax Invoices”. Both are in the same menu in Your Orders.
- Can I get Amazon Japan receipts in English?
- You can switch Amazon.co.jp to English from the flag at the top right or the language settings page, and the menus then use English labels. Amazon says some features and messages may not be available in English and that the Japanese version prevails where they differ, so expect some Japanese.
- How do I get an invoice with a T registration number?
- In Your Orders, select “Invoice” on the order, then “Tax Invoices” (「明細書/適格請求書」). It is available after the item ships, for items sold by Amazon.co.jp and by sellers that have registered their number with Amazon. For other sellers you get a payment statement, and you need to ask the seller about its registration.
- Can I print a receipt from the Amazon app?
- No. The Amazon Shopping app can’t print receipts or qualified invoices. Open amazon.co.jp in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android, go to Your Orders, open the document and print it from the share menu. If an order can’t be printed on the mobile site, use a computer.
- Why is there no receipt for my order?
- Documents appear only after the item ships. If you paid at a convenience store, ATM, by net banking or with e-money, Amazon doesn’t issue a receipt; use the slip from the place you paid. The payment statement and qualified invoice are still available in Your Orders.
